I have been working on android application development from past 5 years and well versed with new technology related to app development.  Recently I had started using Rx Java and Rx Android for application development which makes app more stable and error free (almost).  since you talk about JDBC, I guess a server is needed to manage all the data of students, teachers, etc. I can handle server part too. I would prefer using Amazon's aws dynamoDB. I would be a better hire if you could give me a chance to prove myself. I could even give u a sample app with 1 or 2 screens to show how exactly I have done it.
