Hi! The db compression can be done manually or automated (that would require some considerations, like if it is a multiuser db, no one can be connected to the data for it to be compressed, and so on). I have done many projects with different approachs to apply user-permission level over app objects. I can merge both front-ends and apply programmatically the RW (actually, CRUD) permissions according to the user or even profile it belongs to. I would need to know how many forms and reports do you have? In order to mesure how many objects require security. Hi I can help you improving your access database in order to prompt the user for username and password upon opening. Also, I can combine your 2 front ends and preserve their functions. Most of the time the users access levels are Admin, User and Viewer or Read Only.
