Logo design for new managed cloud computing business

Ironstar is a new managed cloud computing provider focused on serving the security and support requirements of medium-to-large enterprise and government departments across the world. We know that our clients value security and support beyond any other other offering, so we've made these a cornerstone of our product and culture. We are web developers and system administrators who have spent many years working with other hosting providers, and have long suffered the experience of disappointment when our hosting provider lets us down. We have taken the step of founding our own business because we see how poorly our web design customers have been treated, and we believe the whole industry is in need of disruption. As an entirely new business, we're have an opportunity to develop a new brand image that clearly demonstrates our commitment to security and reliability first and foremost. Our very name, Ironstar, has been chosen because we believe it resonates as a brand that offers stability, assurance, and performance. We are looking for talented logo and brand designers to help us create the visual component that matches and emphasises our mission. This brief, therefore, is to create a logo for Ironstar. We are looking for a logo design that conveys the following meaning a sense of stability, integrity, and robustness. We are also interested in separating ourselves from our competitors, by demonstrating that we are a serious, premium brand. Our logo should immediately give the viewer a sense that "here is a serious, premium business, focused on reliability and security". It is OK, we think, if this brand feels cold or impersonal. For example, one concept we've been playing with is that of an actual Iron star, a sphere of metal giving off some light. The idea of a stellar object does give the sense of stability and being robust. This is similar in many ways to how you feel when think of a bank vault, or safe. There's nothing personal in the object, but you certainly trust it as a place to store your valuables. The Pantheon brand we especially like because of how well it communicates power and agility. The Acquia and Platform brands are less like we would like to see, as these brands don't convey (in our opinion) any sense of security or integrity. Finally, we are looking for a brand that works well on both black and white backgrounds (we are more than happy to have two opposing logos done for this purpose, rather than one logo that tries to work on all backgrounds).
