Hi. Have you looked into AWS systems manager? We can use CLI to write scripts in Python and link it all to a web portal where you would control the instances.

From what I understand, you want the EC2 instances to be used as a VDI and let users connect to it from softwares like vmware or citrix from their local desktops. I assume DevTop is a development environment. AWS Built in Solution: Amazon workspace has all the features you need but supports only Windows 7 , 10 desktops But unfortunately is does not support docker or virtual box. So If you are OK with Windows this is a good solution. Linux Desktop Access in AWS: AWS does not provide direct console access to EC2 instance as a security feature. But this feature is available in Digital Ocean and Vultr. You can get the direct GUI console access in a browser terminal. AWS Solution: We can create a portal to Login / Start / Stop /Hybernate EC2 instances. But still users will have to login using SSH or VNC.
