Currently when we use Thunderbird the WAV file that is attached to the email message needs to be opened to be played. We would like to have extensions that allows to play the WAV file in the email without opening it. The feature only has to work with incoming emails. Not with the files we compose and send out. If there is feature already existing for this please direct me in right direction.

Hello! I have rich experience with "Mozilla platform" in general and with Thunderbird in particular. In my opinion better not embedding the player into body, but place it on bottom of email (or on top). But can be implement both methods you will be able to select a preferred way via settings. I don't know any ready solution and quick search in catalog does not find anything worthy of attention. I am always happy to answer on any questions.
