TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Preamble
We intends to convert our books to HTML 5 compliant interactive digital content which is interoperable to educational computing devices provided to public schools across the country.
The HTML5 content will run on any device that will be provided to schools. The content must support loading, mass distribution, and online access
Properties of the content:
Format and presentation – 30%
The digital content needs to be interactive and should comprise of text, video, audio, animation, games, and images in HTML5
HTML5 content package should be a self-contained ZIP file [Package Interchange File (PIF) ] containing certain contents file standards.
• Mandatory Content Package contents:
• Main index file for each ZIP file([login to view URL])
• All other files referenced by the index file
All resource (Assets) files used by the content package and its learning activities
All the files that make up a content package must fit within the same
directory tree structure within the PIF file. Your package should group everything into a single directory, or it may use sub-directories within the root. All files used must be within the content package.
NOTE: content developers should avoid the use of server-side code and other dependencies like databases. References to external files or absolute URLs are not allowed.
Assets support are Videos, audio, and images. Formats for these assets are MP4 for videos, MP3 for Audios, and JPEG and PNG for Images
Access – 20%
The content should be Accessible offline at All Time: interactive multimedia content hosted on a local server or node and support real-time play of animations, audio, video, and illustrations with minimal delay or downtime.
Accessible online: Interactive multimedia content hosted on the internet or external server and support real-time play of animations, audio, video, and illustrations with minimal delay or downtime.
Security and Protection – 10%
The content should allow encryption methods that are simple and comply with AES encryption standards
Cross-platform – 10%
Should be able to run on multi-‐operating systems including the following; Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and Android. It should also support both 32-‐bit and 64-‐bit versions of the operating systems.
Device support – 10%
The content should be able to run on different devices like PC’s, desktops, laptops, tablets and browser-enabled phones
Technical design –10%

Solution adaptability – 10%
The content should support different types of deployment in schools as follows;
1- It should be able to work in a school where there are limited/no connectivity without a server and wireless infrastructure.
2- It should be able to work in a school with servers, wireless infrastructure, and USB based extension ports
3- It should be able to work in a school with mixed infrastructure for both offline and online, or wired and wireless fidelities
4- It should work in a school that has the infrastructure of various technologies with a set minimum of Atom processor or equivalent processor speed.
