Design the map of a city

Hi, I am very interested in the project. I would be able to hand draw the map and then use different parts of the city and raise them in 3D. This means I would hand draw the city by using existing maps and then scan the drawing and edit it on photoshop for it to be right. I am interested in city planning so this would be a perfect job for me. I am good at hand drawing and have a degree in architecture where this is extremely important, as well as drawing building which means the cathedral would be easy for me to draw. I think it is best to draw the outline by hand or on autocad to get the line weights right and then add the street names later on in photoshop. During my years at university I have done something similar to this before. Should the map be in colour?
