Design a roof truss for a storage shed, which will sustain a specified load capacity, which will fall within the restrictions for allowable thermal expansion and deflection as determined by building codes, and which will provide the most economical solution. The link below will give an idea of the typed of roof I am looking for.
For purposes of this design, the external load consists of any environmental load, e.g. precipitation and wind. In short, the appropriate design will be determined by assessing different specifications, namely material choice and dimensions. More specifically, load capacity, deformation, deflection, cost, and thermal expansion will be considered in evaluating each design alternative.
What I'm hiring for:
1. Find Regulations for allowable load capacity, regulations for allowable thermal expansion and
regulations for allowable deflection.
2. Math analysis on the trusses that will give deflection, thermal expansion, and all external forces, as well as analysis at the joints. (This part must have work shown)
3. Compare the truss of this roof material with 5 other possible materials to decide which is the best choice for material. (You can choose materials).
4, Need links or references to information you found or used.
Please include the type of joints you chose to use with math analysis of the joints.
This does not have to be a formal report. Just the math analysis requested (which can be done by hand as long as it's legible). Also all the regulations that must be considered (Which should most likely be done before conducting a math analysis). I live in Las Vegas, so I'm not too sure how that will be a factor when looking up regulations.
