Hello! This is just part of a bigger pilot project i wished to implement at my dads pharma store. The idea is to keep track of expiry and not having to rely on our memory and to check physically the dates. Also, i like electronics project however lack required skills. My Requirement: What i am looking for is a system that allows me to scroll through text files stored on an SD card. I am planning to use 20x3 LCD character display (for low power consumption as against back lit light lcd) and an SD card (micro SD) to hold the text files and display each record in three lines on the LCD. It should read a text line from the SD card and display it on the LCD. The device should have 4 switches: power, menu, up and down, LCD display and SD card reader. When the menu button is pressed, the main menu is displayed where all the stored text files are displayed on. I am looking for tidy and shrunk final outcome (like using IC's. PS: I am rookie) along with code possibly using arduino. Give me step by step instruction and i will do the same.

Hello, I am vice-champion in an international robotics competition , I can do your project and help you understand how it works. However, I think we can build an android/IOS app that will do what you want to do and have a better display of the data. I have a better idea , why don't we use the codeBar of the medecin to track it through time , and what I mean by that is that we build an arduino based project which will store data in an SD card or on a Server (computer) and once it reads the codeBar of the medecin it gives you all the information about it, I think that is easier to use for your dad. I'm new here but ranked #13 in Workana and #2 in Argentina. I can do it straight. We'll use a 4 x 20 lcd. Arduino UNO or Micro (as you wish ). The text could scroll manually or auto ... Relevant Skills and Experience You'll program the scroll time. I'll give you the code, connection's diagram, instructions, parts list and a video of the test. I make the tests with real components.

i have built exactly the same project long ago however it was alarm system stand alone what you need is to wired SD card and test its reading and writing wired lcd to arduino and check reading character on display and we will add the rest of logic code later with collaboration if you are interested please text back thanks ragard
