Write designing WLAN background and principles to university campus WLAN

Deliverables Three documents are to be submitted: 1. Background 2. Design Document 3. Wireless policy recommendation. Case study Taking notes with paper and pencil might soon become a thing of the past. Even today you can take a portable PC to lectures of course, but what is a PC without a network/Internet connection nowadays? The multimedia university (MMU) is aware of this problem and is therefore considering installing network access points in all classroom in order to give students access to the MMU network from their portable PCs. Laying a new network cable to all seats isn't really an option however. One can easily add in access points for lecture theatres that are still to be built, but installing them in existing lecture classroom will almost inevitably result in a mess. Therefore the option of installing Wireless LAN access points in auditoria has received a great deal of attention. The most popular protocol for Wireless LAN is defined in the standard IEEE 802.11a,b,g,h,i,n,ac, ad,af, … and is also known as Wireless Ethernet or Wi-Fi. This protocol is the one under consideration by the MMU. In practice it works approximately as follows. You enter the auditorium, sit down, and boot or wake your portable PC. Then a Wi-Fi client on your portable searches for a wireless LAN. The network has a client-server like architecture, with wireless access points as servers and PCs with an 802.11 NIC as clients. So there are some wireless access points in the classroom to provide the network infrastructure (the access points themselves are connected to MMU through fixed connections). After the Wi-Fi client has detected one of the access points, it requests to join the network and the access point may or may not grant access depending on several parameters. From the moment on you are granted access and from the standpoint of the user, it will seem as if you have a regular fixed network connection. As MMU students like to enjoy the gardens and outside area consideration should be given toproviding access to areas outside of lecture theatres. During this project a wireless access network for the MMU campus has to be designed. Multiple access points will be needed because the number of users per access points is limited(vendor specific). MMU has seen the demand to provide wireless coverage on campus increase exponentially. In an effort to support 3-5 Wi-Fi connected devices per student, online testing platforms and multimedia delivered over wireless, MMU need to design, deploy and support a complete secure mobility solution. Challenges:  One high-performing WLAN solution with a central management system  Support for high-density areas and BYOD  Solution for Multimedia over Wireless  Coverage across large common areas  High level of visibility and control  Simple to use, reliable, high-performing user experience NOTE(IN THIS PROJECT THE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS WILL CONSIST OF 3 BLOCKS ONLY TO BE COVERED ESTIMATED NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN EACH BLOCK 500 AT MAX(EACH ONE HAS 3 DEVICES) ) IN THIS PROJECT I REQUIRE FREELANCER TO PROVIDE ME TWO ONLY OF THE MENTIONED Deliverables ABOVE THOSE ARE 1 AND 3, I ALREADY HAVE 2 BUT NEED A FREELANCER THAT CAN DO 1 AND 3 FOR ME. THE DESCRIPTION ABOVE WAS GIVEN BY MY SUPERVISOR FOR THIS PROJECT. SO I NEED 2 DOCUMENTS : 1 IS THE WIRELESS NETWORK BACKGROUND AND DESIGNING PARAMETERS AND PRINCIPLES REGARDING THIS NETWORK AS UNIVERSITY WIRELESS NETWORK THAT PROVIDE ACCESS FOR STUDENTS, LECTURERS AND STAFF. 2 WIRELESS POLICY AND RECOMMENDATIONS THAT INCLUDE THE NETWORK SECURITY AND USERS POLICY, REGULATIONS SUCH THE NUMBER OF DEVICES THAT CAN BE CONNECTED ON THIS NETWORK ,AND ALLOWABLE AND NON-ALLOWABLE WEB SITES (USERS CAN NOT DOWNLOAD VIDEO FILES FROM ANY WEB SITES)
