Conceptual Model. Develop a conceptual model for the problem, by describing
the objectives, inputs, outputs, content (including a logic flow diagram),
assumptions and simplications of the model, in approximately 500 words.
b) Computer Model. Build a simulation computer model in SIMUL8 to model the
problem. A screenshot of your simulation model should be provided in your report.
Run the model 100 times to find the average and maximum total time in system,
and the number of satisfied customers who leave the original system from the
“Results Manager” in SIMUL8. Use the number 1 as your initial random seed.
HINT: To model routing back to be service again if a customer is dissatisfied with
the service, which happens with a probability that depends on the number of
previous unsatisfactory services, consider using a label set to the Bernoulli
distribution, where success = 1 and failure = 0, and the probability to be input is
the probability of success.
c) Experimentation. Experiment with the simulation model you built in b) to find
solutions to the problem situation described above. Each trial should contain at
least 20 runs. Details of statistical analysis (using the CRN technique) and
computer outputs should be included in your report. Use the number w as your
initial random seed.
d) Report to Manager. Write a report of approximately 1500 words to the system
manager, explaining your recommendations. Include the reasoning behind your
choice and the comparative advantages and disadvantages of your choice. Include
graphs/tables to illustrate and explain your recommendations. Remember that this
report is represented to a business manager and should hence be of high quality
and not overly-technical.
