Navodila natečaja

The block has to be able to transform infrared radiation, around 940 nm, to electrical output of 3-4 V, 40 mW or more.
Requirements:
Block circuit is self-powered from the abovementioned infrared energy source (without additional battery, etc).
Block has to be restricted to size less than 1 square cm, and less than 2-3 mm height.
Block components have to be common/accessible/inexpensive, preferably of SMD type.
Possible solution is "Joule thief" schema with PIN Photodiode. However, other solutions are welcomed.
Project's result has to be presented as EasyEDA compatible schematic and PCB, with video proof of its functioning.

    Hi! good project! very interesting...
I have a question...the complete block can measure up to 1cmX1cm base by 3mm height? including julius thief?
I am working on the problem..
    Thanks..

      Hi again!
I am working on this project. I have already managed to make (and measure) a prototype of a very small "julius thief" that delivers the requested power; unfortunately I still do not get the pin diode components that I consider most appropriate.
I have a question... do you need the 40mw continuously (as long as there is infrared radiation of course) or do you only need them periodically? Thanks!

Hi, Santiago, and sorry for delay with answer. Freelancer doesn't notify about posts... Uninterruptible power source is preferable, but if you achieve good efficiency, interruptions will be acceptable too. If you are asking about longevity of block working, it will work during periods in order of several hours

I have updated project description: "Block circuit is self-powered from the abovementioned infrared energy source (without additional battery, etc)." Please, revise your circuit. Also a LED (D1), what is it for? I don't need it. Is it for load simulation or for indication purpose?

I have updated project description: "Block circuit is self-powered from the abovementioned infrared energy source (without additional battery, etc)." It seemed obvious for me, but I have to admit that it is not obvious for others...
