I'm looking to form a portfolio of articles and essays to show prospective employers. Despite having a few already I could do with some inspiration to kick-start some more. I want to know what you think would be interesting to read about, and what subjects inspire and excite you. I'm open to anything, but there are a few rules:

1. Must be researchable! Each piece will be between 2,000 and 3,000 words. Thus, there needs to be a substantial amount of content behind the subject.
2. The more obscure or bizarre the better.
3. Each title must be dissimilar from the last - I'd like five unique ideas rather than five on the same theme.

£2.00 an idea, and you'll be credited by name within the piece.

  The target audience is the general public. I don't have any particular preference regarding the subject, but I do enjoy writing pharmacology and technology. Any science-based ideas would be good, however, if I had to narrow it down.
